KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! Oxnard COPWATCH Orientation, Training, & Documentary Film Screening
Saturday, March 1, 2014 @ 5:00 pm
Café on A / Acuña Gallery and Cultural Center, 438 South “A” St., Oxnard CA 93030
The Oxnard Police Department seems to think that it can violate the rights of our people and abuse its authority under the color of the law.
Not if we’re ORGANIZED and WATCHING out for each other!
USE your rights to protect your community! Join us for the first training COPWATCH training session in Oxnard.
LEARN THE BEST METHODS FOR:
- Protecting yourself, your family, and your neighbors by watching and documenting police actions and encounters.
- Recognizing and responding to police manipulation techniques.
- Preventing police misconduct and abuse by using your legal rights.
We will be screening a short film and hosting a workshop and training session led by veteran Copwatch organizers from Santa Ana and the San Fernando Valley, two of Southern California’s major centers of police brutality. Snacks and childcare will be provided, and all members of the community – students, workers, parents and grandparents, are encouraged to attend.

¡NO, si estamos organizados y vigilamos nuestras comunidades!

My friends at Todo Poder Al Pueblo: This is not intended to nor should it distract from you specific goals, but, if you should support my plan to construct a Sports Complex that would feature professional boxing and if we can garner public support that would overcome the city council’s current objections it would be a huge feather in the hat of the Hispanic Community, add to our political legitmiacy and contribute to our power and strength besides giving our community an important part of our culture. Everything positive: employment, recognition, inflluence, etc., etc. Please back up my efforts to convince the city council to begin deliberations toward a world attraction sports complex. Councilmember Dorina has sent me a strong opinion of encouragement and is willing to consider the sports complex as a vital project. Give her and me the support we need. Thank you. It’s for the benefit of our people.
