The Todo Poder al Pueblo Collective warmly invites you to join us for a free screening of the important & timely award-winning film, Concerning Violence.
Narrated by Lauryn Hill, Concerning Violence is a powerful feature documentary covering neo-colonialism, imperialism, and the 1966-1987 liberation struggles in Africa. Based on Frantz Fanon’s revolutionary text, “The Wretched of the Earth”, the film uses brilliant archival footage to shed light on the methods of violent control imposed on the peoples and nations of the so called “Third World”, as well as the people’s armed self-defense and resistance to oppression.
As confrontational as it is ultimately rewarding, Concerning Violence is a scathing indictment of past misdeeds — and a sobering reminder of how far we still have to go.
Entrance is FREE! Tasty snacks & refreshments will be available (for a small donation), and we will also be raffling items (including an Apple iPad Mini 4) to raise funds for our all-volunteer grassroots Collective.
